HARTFORD—Republicans in the state’s House of Representatives on Nov. 7 were unanimous in selecting state Rep. Vincent Candelora for a third term as leader of the House Republican Caucus.
"I’m truly honored by the confidence my colleagues have placed in me to lead our caucus and their support for the work we’ve accomplished together in the minority," Candelora said. "I’m eager to continue advancing our shared mission of making Connecticut more affordable and strengthening our economy to create opportunities for all."
Over the last two years, Candelora and his caucus drove debate on the need for tax relief, with their efforts eventually leading to an income tax reduction for working class residents. Additionally, Candelora, of North Branford, led the charge to extend the fiscal guardrails that have allowed the state to better control spending while also playing down debt.
Candelora represents the 86th Assembly District serving residents of North Branford, Durham, East Haven, and Guilford.
